Join us in downtown Seattle for the fifth annual Penny Arcade Expo (better known as “PAX”). We’ll be at the show for the entire weekend of August 29 — 31, so be sure to swing by booth #642 to say hello!

For those of you who already have your calendars marked (and for those who may still be thinking about making the trip), here’s a list of some of the Guild Wars-related activities happening at the expo.

Battle it out in our new 2v2 Limited Play

Back by popular demand, sealed deck play now has a new name and brand new functionality. Interested in learning more about this revamped competition? Check out the rules to see how you can get in on the action and play for exciting real-world prizes.

Compete in our new Rollerbeetle Racing tournament

Can’t get enough of Rollerbeetle Racing? Here’s your chance to race other PAX attendees competitively for real-world prizes! You can find out more about the structure of the races and the prizes for winning here.

Collect more signed Guild Wars art from ArenaNet artists

Last year’s artist signings were so well received, we just had to do it again…only bigger! Many of our talented artists will be at booth #642 to chat and sign prints of their artwork for you to collect and keep. We’re especially pleased to announce that our renowned Art Director, Daniel Dociu, will be among the artists offering signed prints! Don’t miss your chance to get an amazing piece of signed art for free!

Join the Community

Come and chat with our Community Manager, [[Regina Buenaobra]]. She’ll be at the booth all weekend, handing out Guild Wars swag and hosting fun fan contests (which can net you even more prizes). Make sure you stop by the booth for more information about the events and the times they’ll be taking place.

In addition to our exclusive Guild Wars panel, members of our team will also be sitting in on other panels around the expo. Join them to learn more about various games industry topics.

Exclusive After-party at GameWorks

Hang out with ArenaNet staff Saturday night at our after-hours party

Grab some free food and a tasty beverage and hang out with the team as we party at the largest arcade in Seattle.

This special event starts at 6:00 PM sharp. The first three hours are limited to ArenaNet staff and invited guest VIPs—and during those hours, said VIP ticket-holders can participate in a game that could net them serious prizes (including a smokin’ gaming laptop)! How do you score one of these VIP tickets? We’ll be handing them out in limited quantities on Friday and Saturday to participants in our community events and to other gregarious types who swing by the booth…so stop in at #642, chat with the ArenaNet team, compete in a tournament, participate in a few events, and you just might wind up on the VIP list.

After the exclusive period is up, we’ll open the doors to all badge-carrying PAX partiers for an additional two hours, so you can get in on the fun even if you don’t manage to score an early entry.

This year’s show is shaping up to be ArenaNet’s best PAX ever, with more artists to sign prints, more tournaments to show off your skills, and more real-world rewards just for playing the game you love (and we love to make). Throw in 2v2 Limited Play and the after-party at GameWorks, and you’ve got the makings of one great weekend.
