Guild History
First I want to thank every guild member and Officer that has made this Guild as successfull as we have become. If it was not for you I would not be here writing this History.
Carmon Magorie
In September of 2004 I heard of this new game called Guild Wars. I went to EB Games and pre-ordered the game and began to play the beta test for the game 1 weekend a month. I quickly fell in love with the game play and decided that this is a game I would play everyday. On April 28, 2005 I went to Eb Games to pick up my copy of the game and History began.
April 28,2005
April 28, 2005Â I set to work building my first character a Warrior I named Carmon Magorie. Little did I know what he was about to become. Over the next 2 days I built Carmon up and had decided to make his second Profession Ranger. Now Carmon the W/R was ready to cross over to post searing. As I showed my friends the new Character I had made they quickly ask me a lot of questions about the game. We had all played Diablo and Diablo2 together and had many night of fun and laughter online playing the games. They told me they were going to buy the game too. We had found our new game to replace Diablo. I decided on May 1, 2005 I would make a Guild to call our own. We had decided on a Cape but had to think of a name. After many names all that were taken I had come up with a name I thought would fit us. The name I came up with was Knights and Heros. Thinking I would have to be a bit creative with the name I changed the spelling of Heroes to Heros. That was the easy part now I asked what the hell s a [Tag Name]? My friends and I had decided on the cape with the Beer Mug on it. So I tried [Beer] as our tag. Wow it fits we all laughed.
May 1, 2005
I quickly went out to invite new members. One member I had invited that first day would have a larger roll in the guild than he or I would have imagined over the next 2 weeks. Laarik N joined the Guild on May 1, 2005Â about 10:00pm Est. After a few calls to my friends about the game my thoughts were that a few members would leave soon. I believed Laarik would be one of them. Boy would he prove me Wrong. Thank God too because over the next month Laarik and I would make many choices that would shape the Guild as we know it today.
The first thing I had decided on was to make Laarik N an Officer. The first joint choice we made was to get the members a Guild Hall. We tried HoH with Pug Groups. But never coming close we gave up. So we knew we would have to buy the hall sigil from someone. Great they are going for 80k. So over the next 2 weeks all we did was save for the hall. But we fell short we had only 75k.We knew we were going to need help as the price was going up faster than we could save. Then we had to do something we did not want to do and that was go to our members for help. What would they think? There Leaders needed help are they strong or just begging for gold. To our surprise they all stepped up and helped. Soon we had the money for the Hall or so we thought. The price had gone up once again. But another Officer would come to our aid. The Wardawg a friend of Laarik’s would come to our aid with the rest of the money. Now all we had to do was buy us a Hall. Laarik, Wardawg and I would then choose the Warrior’s Hall to be our new Guild Hall.
The next order of Business was how to attract new members. Thru the month of May Laarik and I worked hard at Recruiting new active members. But one thing was clear the members wanted a new Cape design. I still liked the Beer Mug on the cape but I was willing to change the cape if it was the Guilds wish. Laarik had a design he showed me and after a few changes I was sold. We had our new cape and the members we very happy. They had there new hall and now a New cape to go with it. (The Cape is the Cape we use today)
As the Guild Grew so did the Guilds demands. We needed help to run the Guild. We needed new Officers and fast. Laarik and I upgraded many members to Officers to help with the every day Guild Business. Most of the Officers are still Officers today. But there are 4 Officers that would stand tall in the early days and help me shape the guild some more. I have had the chance to have many great Officers as well as Great members but these officers would make a huge change to the Guild.
Guimo Cyathis
Guimo Joined us on 5/12/05. Guimo the crazy Canadian was one of our first Officers. He brought with him his great sense of humor and fun. Guimo played a large part in Getting Team Speak in the guild. He is also the Creator of the Webpage we use today. Guimo I am happy to say is still an active Officer and now a Friend.
Grav Bong
Grav joined our Guild 5/13/05. Those of us that knew Grav had to hear him tell everyday how great his Fire Ele was “His Nuker” as he put it was unstoppable. But Grav started something that would become a main stay of the Guild. It is also something I am very proud to continue as the guild continues. Grav’s Giveaway Friday’s. I believe it was this that is the direct result in our Free intra-guild Trading among members. Although most members are all set with Items today we still trade to each other Free. Even though Grav has moved to a different game his time here will always be remembered. He will stay an Officer upon his return to the game. I will also keep the tradition of free guild trading.
Zilm Trufar
Zilm joined us on 5/20/05. If Zilm has taught us anything it is ” If you play as a monk know matter what happens it is always your fault” Even though Zilm and I are close to the same age he is the Guilds Father of reason. He has taught me alot about being a better. Even without lessons Zilm has shown me Patience,Trust and reason. I feel I have become a better leader with his wisdom. Zilm is still an Officer today and a true friend.
Siris Sybil
Siris Joined us on 5/21/05. The biggest thing Siris showed me was Never judge a book by it’s cover. At the time he joined. Siris was maybe the youngest member in the guild. But even his lack of age would not slow him down. We had made him an Officer before we knew his age. But even knowing his age He was a very Gifted Officer. It was with his help we built many Great GvG teams. He made us think more closely about our secondary Professions. Because of Siris’s roll in the guild. He has opened many doors for our younger members. But his greatest achievement was that he cut thru the stereo type that kids don’t know what they are talking about or they don’t have what it takes. Because of Siris I have 1 thing to say to other guilds that don’t allow kids inthe guild. Don’t underestimate the younger members in this Guild or they will defete you. Siris is still a member but because of school and other things going on in his life he just does not have time to be an Officer.
These are just 4 of the Officers that helped me shape the Guild in the early days of the Guild. This Guild has many Officers and members that help us everyday make a big difference. Some of the other important dates for the guild are below.
May 26, 2005
On the night of 5/26/05 Guimo Surprized our Guild with a Forum page. We have as a guild have been better informed and been able to share game hints and strategies with each other. The Web page as we know it today is still growing thanks to Guimo’s help. It is a great place to communicate with each other.Â
June 2005
In June we tried Team Speak for the first time. With this tool we became a closer and Better skilled guild. But due to the stability of the servers. We changed on Aug. 5, 2005 to Ventrilo. But due to stability again were forced to use a Pay server. Bulletstopper, Another Guild officer stepped up and presented us with a stable Ventrilo Server. With this we now have a reliable way to stay in touch with each other and organize strong Guild Parties. Today we still use this server. With Donations from members we are all set for Ventrilo for many months to come.
August 2, 2005
On 8/2/05 it was one of the greatest nights in our short history. On this night we set up a GvG team that rolled thru some tough teams. The night began as Officers and members wanted to try out a new Build they had been working on. The build they had been trying was called an Air Spike Team. As I listened on Ventrilo the sounds of excitement filled the channels. Members Begged me to make the channel larger so they could hear what was going on. As the night wore on they kept on winning more than they lost. They rolled through some very tough Korean teams. the battle call was “lets just get the rating down to 500.” When that was done it was just 400 then 300. When they had reached around rank 330 or so. They entered a GvG against a team ranked 23. Everyone listening in on the team sighed “ooohhh No” but the team did not echo the same panic. They fought hard and when the dust had settled we had WON!!!!! our rank was below 300. We had reached rank 292. As the night came to a close we ranked 304. Excitement and praises were heard throughout the guild as members signed on the next day and saw the rank for the very first time. What a team. What a Guild.
We as a guild have many programs to help our members thru out the game. We have a guild storage Program. In the program we have many weapons, runes,dyes, and materials for all in the guild to have. We as Officers have made a guild bank for our members set up on 10/15/05 to help members with the purchase of large items. On 12/25/05 we purchased a second Guild because of our ever growing state. The second Guild has a similar name Knights and Heroes [Beer] This guild is there for growth and GvG practice. We have many plans for the new Guild and as always our members are Excited and are looking forwards to useing the guild. Today 1/12/04 we have 125 members and are still growing. The year 2006. I as your leader will work on making us grow to 200 members with 40 Officers and 1 assistant Guild Leader.
I am sure we will add to this History in the months or years to come. This Guild is what it is because of all our members Past and Present. Togather we have built a Community of Friends that keeps growing. It is a safe Community for all Ages, Sex or Nationality. With all that you have just read. You now know why I feel we are the Best Guild Ever. I am sure I will see or talk with most of you in game. But if not I will always be here for you. That is my promise to you as your Leader.
