Real Money For Guild Wars Gold

April 1st, 2008

I found this little story on Gaile’s News Page on the Official Wiki:

Changes to Taiwanese Accounts – 31 March 2008

New government regulations in Taiwan, which take effect April 1, restrict game companies in that region from effectively suspending or banning accounts for participating in professional farming or real-money trading. Guild Wars is highly impacted by local regulations such as this, because Guild Wars operates in a seamless, connected manner between all territories. We cannot sustain a seamless connection when we are unable to effectively police the game in one territory, because professional farmers in that territory could severely damage the game’s economy throughout the world. Therefore, we are forced to disconnect Taiwanese service from the rest of the game world as of April 1.

Users in Taiwan will still be able to participate in their international guilds and compete in international PvP, but as of April 1, they will no longer be able to enter international districts, trade with players outside Taiwan, or play in PvE environments with players outside Taiwan.

I guess Anet is very serious about buying gold, they seperated an entire region from the rest of the GW World

Guild Wars 2

March 3rd, 2008

Many of you have asked me if I have heard anything about Guild Wars 2. I have read many things about it but nothing is confirmed as of yet. Here is one of the things I have read about Guild Wars 2

     Guild Wars 2 Story

The Guild Wars 2 story is set about 250 years after the events in the Eye of the North expansion. The world of Tyria is drastically changed from its original form. These changes are caused by ancient dragons resurfacing after millenia of slumber. The first of the dragons, called Primordus, awoke during Eye of the North and proceeded to take over the underground network of Asuran tunnels under Tyria, driving the Asuras to the surface. Other dragons also resurfaced during the intervening centuries; one rose about the sunken holy city of Arah in the ruined kingdom of Orr, and severed the sea route between Kryta and Cantha; another arose to the south of the Crystal Desert, cutting off the link to Elona; a third arose in the Far Shiverpeaks and pushed the Norn south into land previously controlled by the Dwarves.

The human faction is much reduced. The resurfacing dragons caused massive floods that destroyed many coastal cities in Kryta, including its capital city, Lion’s Arch and the PvP Battle Isles. The humans have established a new capital in Divinity’s Reach after moving north from the coast. They’re governed by a constitutional monarch and senate which attempts to balance all the human factions there. Many refugees flocked to Kryta from the rest of Tyria; most importantly, the humans from Ascalon. Ascalon now belongs entirely to the Charr apart from a single fortress, Ebonhawke. Ascalon City itself is a ghost town, populated by the vengeful spirits of its former citizens who slay all who dare enter. Read the rest of this entry »

Eye of the North Reputation Weekend

February 27th, 2008

Starting at Noon Pacific this Friday, you will earn double Asura, Deldrimor, Ebon Vanguard, and Norn points for defeating foes while under the effects of a shrine bonus.

This is a great opportunity for people to raise, and possibly max, one or more reputation ranks.

We need to help our fellow guildies and alliance member questing and vanquishing in these areas!

Also another contest of “What’s in my Backpack” is coming the second weekend in March, watch the forums for details!
